Take a Red River dirt road through the Aspens and past the teepees to this fully restored 1940’s Cabin by the Creek. A 4×4 vehicle and possibly snow chains will be necessary to access our Cabin by the Creek property during the winter season. Enjoy the quiet mountain atmosphere down by the creek as you sway side to side in the hammock. Located off a dirt road 2.75 miles up Bittercreek Trail, this two bedroom one bathroom cabin welcomes groups of up to 6 with its southern charm and old-fashion decor. Spend a long weekend in this log cabin and you’ll take a trip back in time to the good ol’ days at your gramma’s house. Start your morning off with a cup of coffee on the oversized deck that overlooks the creek and the yard with a hammock, picnic table and fire pit, and a horse shoe pit. Check out the lower deck where you are immersed in nature among the beautiful aspens, close to the sounds of the mountain creek.If you’re lucky, you might even see some of the local wildlife stopping by to say “hello”. Both bedrooms have full-size beds, and there is a loft with a twin bed and a twin trundle. There is one full bathroom with a shower and a 1890s clawfoot bathtub. Also included is a full kitchen with all the basic cookware, even a waffle iron, and a microwave, but no dishwasher. This cabin has a Tv with a DvD/VcR player for watching movies, no cable. Books, toys and games are provided for the kids. It has both a wood-burning and a gas log fireplace. Propane grill included. For winter guests, chains and/or a 4Wheel Drive vehicle is Required. The cabin is 2.75 miles up a rocky, uneven, dirt mountain road. It has High Speed WiFi access but no satellite TV. The High Speed WiFi make it a good choice for those who work remotely. No trailer parking. No Washer/Dryer. This property has a total of 850 square feet. Well water contains a high mineral content and is not advisable to drink. Water from the city tap is provided for consumption. Guest Access

To pick up your keys and/or keyless entry code, check in at the Reservations Unlimited office located at 312 West Main Street Red River, NM, 87558. If you anticipate being late, you must notify Reservations Unlimited and they will provide instructions to access your reserved property after hours.

Interaction with guests

Guests will receive a confirmation email containing all the information you will need for your stay. If you were to ever have any problems, please reach out to the office during normal office hours or use the emergency number that can be found on your check-in paperwork. Our goal is to make your stay as stress-free as possible from the moment you start planning, until long after you check out.

About The Neighborhood

Red River is nestled in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, located in the southernmost part of the Rocky Mountains. The mountain town is completely surrounded by the Carson National Park. Despite being a small town, Red River has an extensive dining selection that is sure to satisfy even the pickiest eater. Enjoy everything from bistros and cafes, to Italian, Mexican, and even the finest steakhouses while maintaining relaxed mountain vibes. Hiking is a fun and easy way to explore the natural beauty that Red River has to offer. There are several leisurely trails around town for those looking to have a relaxing stroll through the Carson National Park, as well as the more challenging terrains for those adventure seekers.

Getting Around

Red River is an ideal town for walkers. At a little over one mile long, visitors can easily stroll along the sidewalks and take in all the town has to offer. After shopping, skiing or just enjoying all this mountain offers, visitors have the option to not walk at all. The Red River Miner's Transit provides free year-round, seven-days-a-week, wheelchair-accessible service anywhere in town. Skiers especially love the hotel to slope-side service.

Directions

For guests flying into New Mexico, we recommend flying into Albuquerque International Sunport, Santa Fe Municipal Airport or Taos Airport. Once you’ve landed, it’s time to make the short drive to Red River. Rental cars are available at all airport locations.

Rules

Cabin by the Creek is a non-smoking property. Please wash the dishes and take out the trash before leaving the property. Please don't adjust refrigerator temperature. Please close and secure all doors and windows before leaving the property.

Please check in at the Reservations Unlimited office, located at 312 W Main Red River, NM 87558. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM daily but is not guaranteed during peak periods. If you arrive after hours, you will find an envelope taped to the front door that contains your check-in instructions and other information relevant to your stay. If our office is closed when you arrive, please sign the first sheet in the packet and leave it in the drop box.

It is advisable Not to drink the water. Four wheel drive is required during the winter months! No Washer/Dryer No Trailer Parking
