Snow-covered cabins beneath the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Red River, New Mexico at golden hour
About us

Red River runs in our blood.

Reservations Unlimited is one of Red River's longest-running vacation rental management companies, born in the 1980s, still on Main Street, still run by people who actually live here.

Our story

Four decades of front-porch hospitality.

We opened our doors in the 1980s and never left. Shoulder pads, sweat bands, perms, trends came and went. Red River, somehow, stayed cool. So we kept doing what worked: matching guests with the right property, picking up the phone when it rang, and treating every booking like we'd see you at the coffee shop the next morning. Because we probably will.

In 2016, lifelong Red River visitor David Wilcox took over as owner. He grew up chasing "The Face" at Red River Ski Area; now his son Cooper is doing the same. David and members of the team serve various volunteer roles throughout the town, including the Red River Chamber of Commerce, because looking after the town and looking after our guests are really the same job.

"Trends come and go. Red River stays cool, and we've had a front-row seat for forty years of it."

A short history

From "River City" to your next vacation.

The story of Red River, and our small part in it.

  1. Pre-1860s

    Ute & Jicarilla Apache homelands

Long before any town existed, the high valley at the foot of the Sangre de Cristos was the seasonal home of the Ute and Jicarilla Apache peoples.

  2. 1860s–1905

    Gold, silver & copper rush

Prospectors flooded "River City," carving hundreds of mines into the mountains, Golden Treasure, Silver King, Black Copper and more.

  3. 1920s–1940s

From mining camp to mountain escape

As the ore ran out, the valley reinvented itself. Lodges like the Pioneer welcomed the first generation of summer visitors looking for cool mountain air.

  4. 1950s–60s

    The slopes open

Red River Ski Area turns the town into a true year-round destination, skiing in winter, fly fishing and hiking in summer.

  5. 1980s

    Reservations Unlimited is born

We open our doors on Main Street and start matching visitors with the cabins, condos, and lodges that make a Red River vacation feel like home.

  6. 2016

    A new chapter

Lifelong Red River visitor David Wilcox takes the helm, bringing fresh energy while keeping the small-town, neighbor-to-neighbor service that built the company.
